Ozark Trail 12 Person 3 Room L-shaped Instant Cabin Tent 16′ x 16′

The carry bag seems to be of okay quality, and it can be made bigger for easier packing up. It wasn’t too difficult to get the tent, poles and all other accessories back into the carry bag. The zippers worked fine for the windows, but kept snagging on the door because of this rain cover. My other tents with similar designs did not have this ozark trail instant cabin serious of a snagging problem. The material of the tent body and rainfly are made of 68D coated polyester fabric. I don’t think this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent will do very well against strong winds.

So, if you have 2 actual queen beds of 80 by 60 inches, it won’t be able to fit into the tent, because the length is a little too short for 2 actual queens. But of course, you’re sleeping like sardines, and there’s hardly any floor space leftover for gear. It would have been a little quicker, if one, compression straps were provided to help get the tent down into a smaller size, and two, if the carry bag provided could have been a little bit bigger. However, I didn’t like that rainfly shock cord to be attached to the tent was super tight. There’s a lot of strain and tension on the shock cord, and eventually you’re gonna need to replace it. 3 rooms also give you the option to use one as a living and dining area, or even a storage area.

I forgot to measure the height of the bathtub flooring, but I think it’s about 5 inches. It rained for about an hour while I was using this Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent, with about 20 minutes of ozark trail canopy tent moderate rainfall and about 40 minutes of pretty light rain. The single door measures about 54 by 39 inches in dimensions, although it’s about 62 inches from the floor to the top of the door.

Despite losing some headroom in comparison with the Kelty Wireless 6 and The North Face Wawona 6, both of which measure six-foot-four in height, the Base Camp 6 offers a substantial six-foot-two. Car campers who plan to brave miserable weather will appreciate the extra strength and protection of the REI Co-op Base Camp 4 Tent. The main bodies of our other picks are structured with two main poles with added support from smaller brow poles. The Base Camp also offers more privacy compared with our other picks—with or without the rain fly. This cabin style tent includes two doors and a removable room divider to create two separate rooms.

So here just to add that those floor vents are 18 x 18 inches (46 x 46 cm) large, and they are 9 inches (23 cm) off the ground. Note also that each of the rooms is large enough to have a queen size bed inside. So the tent may be useful for 3 couples, but the corner room is without its own door. The picture below shows that it offers the best possible privacy. With a strong emphasis on function, not only will you get multiple room capabilities and a large entry door, but Ozark also ensures this tent has a lot of ventilation options.

Some parts of the stitching aren’t that great as well, and there were fairly big holes, especially where the guylines are connected to the main tent body. I also found a bunch of loose threads on the floor when I first got into the tent, and excess material on some parts. For ventilation, this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has a lot of mesh on the roof of the tent. On top of that, there’s also no zip down the middle of the divider for easy access into either room. To get into the other room, you’d have to remove the divider and then put it back up. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has only 2 pockets in the entire tent, and both measure about 13 inches in length and 6 inches in width, which is very tiny for such a huge tent.

Unfortunately, you have to buy a separate groundsheet for the Wawona 6 and for most other tents its size as well. Its fly extends into a huge front vestibule that can store large items like bikes, or even accommodate a table and chairs. Adults over 6 feet tall will be able to walk upright inside this tent—which has almost-vertical walls that can easily accommodate beds, cribs, and cots—as well as in the vestibule. I highly recommend investing in a slightly better tent for the long term, I can recommend way better dark rest tents or instant camping tents.

Strategically placed cut-outs in the rain fly correspond with the mesh ceiling panels of the tent to let you watch the night sky at any time. The ceiling panels can be zipped up at any time, allowing you to control light, airflow, privacy, and how dry you stay when it rains. We found the best Ozark Trail tent on weather performance is the 4-person Dome that comes in the 22-piece tent combo. This is largely due to the tent’s design, as dome tents overall perform better in bad weather than cabin tents. That’s why I like Ozark Trail – their tents provide strong protection against wind, rain and sun across the board. Certainly it’s not the best weather protection money can buy, but for summer campers and those will be avoiding bad storms, they will hold up just fine.

Note that these tents are strictly meant for car camping; the Base Camp 4 and the Base Camp 6 weigh 16 and 21 pounds, respectively, so you won’t want to carry either one very far. Coleman makes no dedicated footprints for its tents—the idea being that the polyethylene is tough enough not to need one. (Still, we suggest that you buy a groundsheet.) The tent has two small, internal pockets—fewer than on any of our other picks—and a loop at the ceiling center to hang a small, lightweight light. The tent weighs just 16 pounds, less than any other family tent we tested for this guide. Marmot uses color coding smartly to help you position the tent as well as set it up.

If you’re expecting no rain at all, this is a great, reasonably-priced tent. The mesh doesn’t exactly feel soft and silky, and I’m pretty sure it’s not no-see-um mesh, though it’ll keep the bigger bugs out. There was quite a bit of this sort of inconsistent mesh in some places, so not very well put together.
