Universal eBike Conversion Kit

One of the valid concerns raised by riders of e-bikes is the ability of their e-bikes to hold a charge and provide pedal assistance when they’re out for rides of longer distances. Ride up to 20 MPH with the 250-watt brushless geared hub drive pedal assist motor that gives you a boost while you pedal. Choose from several levels of assistance or use the throttle instead. By 1950, Schwinn schwinn dealers had decided the time was right to grow the brand. At the time, most bicycle manufacturers in the United States sold in bulk to department stores, which in turn sold them as store brand models. F. Goodrich bicycles, sold in tire stores, Schwinn eliminated the practice of producing private label bicycles in 1950, insisting that the Schwinn brand and guarantee appear on all products.

Otherwise, the headlight is adjustable to your preference, and the rear light is built into the fender itself. I understand that I’m a big guy, and I’m also about 50 pounds over the maximum advertised weight for this bike. I was probably never going to get 35 miles out of this or any other bike. That being said, I also didn’t get much extra range beyond miles, even after I set the pedal-assist at level 3. In the past, the range you got depended on how much work you were willing to put into it. On my older e-bike (also a Schwinn) I get about the same 20 miles of range at level 5, but I also get closer to 40 miles at level 3.

It took me about an hour to unpack the bike, remove all the protective packaging and then assemble it. The one potential problem is the weight of the bike, with the rear hub motor (from CZJB motor maker) and the in-frame battery already in place. In my case, I left it outside the box and had no trouble installing schwinn dealers the front wheel. Unbeknownst to me, the company has a line of electric bikes designed for entry-level cyclists. Feature rich, relatively affordable, light weight electric bike from ~2009 well suited for city use. Lithium polymer battery pack is fast to charge, easily removable and balanced with the front……

I live in an oceanside condo community in Florida, which is very nice or will be, at least, until the seas rise and reclaim Florida’s barrier islands once more. All of Florida has been underwater before and will be again, although hopefully not in my lifetime. The village is just big enough that it’s a bit of a walk to the restaurant, the Tiki bar, the community center, the golf shack or the pickleball courts. During the kit set-up, I faced the issue of a broken pedal sensor cable. The Swytch Support team sent me the replacement items for free, which was great. However, the support process was slow and it took a long time for them to respond to my queries.

That lovely early morning ride can turn into a chore when the wind shifts and starts blowing in your face rather than against your back. All the parts fitted well and the wheel and spacers fitted perfectly. Once put together, the cables were routed and the bike was ready to ride. And good customer support when I had a a couple of questions. The “Campus” is the most basic in Schwinn’s 2008 electric bike line, but the term basic does not do it justice.

I love how the battery pack slides out to the right vs. mounting down from the top and appreciate the three-bolt design of the track, which provides more strength where it attaches to the frame. It’s a nice pack for being on such a cheap bike… and batteries tend to be some of the most expensive parts of electric bicycles. We have friends who told us about a couple they met that had a pair of folding electric bikes from Lectric. My wife did some research, read the reviews, and ordered one — in bright blue, my favorite color. It arrived a week later and after we got it assembled and charged up, I took it for a ride.
