Genesis Bike 29 : Target

The Montane Icemen (Pete Sissons and Paul Cosgrove) underlined the bikes capabilities as they used a pair of Croix de Fers to circumnavigate the 1600-mile coastline of Iceland in 14 days. The first genesis bicycles was produced under the Ridgeback brand as the Day One model in 2001. Due to its popularity, Genesis became a label in its own right in 2006. With so many different variables this is an impossible question for us to answer properly!

Take your pick from their range of iconic builds such as the Croix De Fer, Fugio, CDA, Vapour, Datum & more. The Core range is based around a 6061 aluminium tube set that is butted where needed with some gentle manipulation to ovalise the down tube as it meets the seat tube at the bottom bracket shell. There are strengthening gussets where the down tube and top tube meet the tapered head tube and the seat stays are an old school wishbone style, the lack of a bridge gives ample mud clearance.

Also, ensure your brakes are working properly and adjust them as needed. 24 speed Shimano Acera/Altus derailleurs get you up to speed quickly. Hydraulic disc brakes will handle breaking with ease and consistency. Over ten years the range expanded beyond commuter bikes to include road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, kids and fat bikes.

It’s equipped with a four-bar suspension and 21-speed drivetrain, providing optimum control and stability even on steep mountain trails. Its strong aluminum frame and robust wheels ensure durability, making it perfect for off-road adventures. The Genesis warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage due to improper assembly or improper & infrequent follow-up maintenance. Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold may also void the warranty. Damage or failure due to accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect is not covered along with labour charges for part replacements or changeovers. Any item returned and approved as a defective item will be either repaired or replaced at the discretion of Genesis.

Third-Party ComponentsComponents specified on a Genesis bike from a third-party brand are covered by the individual brand’s warranty terms. In case of an issue with a third-party component, your Genesis dealer should contact the local distributor for said third-party brand. Raising A Warranty EnquiryYour first point of contact should always be the original place of purchase. The retailer may also have a record of your proof of purchase should you be unable to provide it, however this is not guaranteed. If your place of purchase is no longer available, your local Genesis dealer is best placed to assist you and can inspect the issue.
