Ozark Trail 6-Person Dark Rest Instant Cabin Tent Review Tested!

The zipper quality is not the best, it’s a little bit noisy, and it always, always snags from the outside because of this green rain cover. The Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has just 1 door, which is a D-shaped door, and it’s located somewhere along the length of the tent. The length of the Ozark Trail tent is about 13 feet and 9 inches, while the width is about 9 feet and 11 inches, so slightly smaller than the marketed dimensions of 14 by 10 feet.

To accommodate 10 people in this tent, it’s almost shoulder-to-shoulder sleeping, although there’s some space down the middle for just a tiny bit of camping gear. It allows many people to walk around very easily without hitting their heads. The doors are around 6 feet in height, which also allows easy exit and entry. If you need more options to consider, please check around in various categories in the site, this is all about family camping tents and you will surely find something for you.

Unfortunately, these joints have the tendency to buckle pretty easily in strong winds, so I’d keep this tent away from that. The 4 corners of this large gear organizer have an S-hook, and each of these are to be attached to the fabric loops on the back wall of the tent. ozark trail shower tent The other 2 panels at the top are just full mesh and can’t be zipped up (and are covered by the rainfly in the picture above). These windows aren’t too big though, each of them is in this triangle shape, with a longest length of 39 inches and longest width of 19 inches.

If you’re considering an Ozark Trail yourself, you’re in the right place. With a strong emphasis on function, not only will you get multiple room capabilities and a large entry door, but Ozark also ensures this tent has a lot of ventilation options. Using a low to high venting system, low vents can be guyed out to bring clean air into the tent, while the mesh ceiling and windows help to move it out. The rain fly also provides a small awning over all the windows and front door, helping to direct rain from entering those points on the tent. Ozark provides all the hardware (i.e. stakes), an E-port for powering your living space, and interior pockets and lofts for gear storage.

The picture below shows the tent without the fly so you can see the frame. As you realize this is a nicely balanced construction, very stable and self-supporting. The tent is a true freestanding structure, and this remains so even after you add the fly and clip it to the corners, so ozark trail shower tent you can move it around and rotate. But the fly is with four guyout lines and you can stake it out in windy conditions. Enjoy miles of sandy beaches, dune-backed shorelines, quaint communities, and marine fun set against the backdrop of expansive blue waters beyond your doorstep.

Above all, it is more affordable than the other two tents, please follow the links for updates. As you have seen, the roof is all mesh and there are two windows plus one window on the only door, and they are all with mesh and panels. But in the case of a real summer camping, I see it suitable for couples or for parents with one small child. They write that it can accommodate 2 queen airbeds but you would not have much space around.

You will however need to replace the stakes that come included, as they are not the best quality. But if you only plan to use the tent one or twice a year, that’s probably not something you’ll have to worry about. The Ozark Trail is the smallest tent, making it easier to fit in a small car. The Coleman Instant 8 is spacious and the big mesh windows are perfect to let the air in. The CORE tent is comfortable, originally made to sleep 9 people, there is plenty of space for 8. If you want to know more about the selection process for these tents, or to have more info to help you decide on which one to pick, keep reading below.

(As its name indicates, it’s meant to house six people, but we wouldn’t recommend that.) The Wireless 6 has two large doors and a full rain fly. A classic polyester dome tent, the Mineral King 3 uses two high-quality pre-bent aluminum poles, which maximize head and shoulder space, making this tent feel less cramped than other dome tents we tested. Two large doors provide easy entry and exit, and a vestibule—that’s camping speak for “mudroom”—outside each door adds significant sheltered storage. The Mineral King 3 has a full rain fly, which you can roll up halfway or completely remove for epic stargazing. It also comes with a groundsheet (aka footprint) to protect the tent floor.

Although it’s designed to accommodate three people—hence the “3” in its name—we found that at 42.5 square feet, the tent is more comfortable for two, plus gear and maybe a medium-size dog. The Ozark Trail 9 Person Cabin shares the same shortcomings as the other discount cabins found in the Ozark Trail lineup, most notably being its weather protection and durability. We also don’t recommend this tent for high winds because although all the poles are steel, Ozark Trail uses a thin-walled alloy that can bend under stress and plastic hubs that we wouldn’t trust in serious storms.
