Gear: The Ozark Trail Screenhouse

Been through several severe storms while camping with no issues. Keeps sun and bugs at bay which was my main reason for buying it. The way the poles clip into hubs is a little hard to get apart.

Use a beach tent for a bit of shade when visiting the shore, or use a pop-up tent to quickly set up a kiosk at a company function. Canopy tents and screen houses are great ways to create food preparation areas as well, so consider taking one with you on your next camping trip. Its fully enclosed design protects users from sun, wind, rain, and bugs, making it a perfect shelter for camping. It was followed closely by the Eurmaxand E-Z UP Pyramid, though neither has sidewalls for complete bug protection. The Caravan V-Series scores a bit lower and isn’t as beefy as more expensive models, but it feels roomy and is easy to move around thanks to a lower weight.

The Ozark Trail 12-Person Cabin Tent turned out to be a spacious and convenient option for my recent camping trip. With its 180 square feet of living space, tall center height, and adaptable room divider, it felt like a second home in the midst of nature. The separate doors for personal sleeping spaces or convertible screen room was a thoughtful feature for a group campout like ours.

The Eurmax and E-Z Up both received lower portability scores because they are heavy and more difficult to lift from the car to the ground. Likewise, they are larger and more difficult to fit into a smaller vehicle. However, once on the ground, their roller bags make it extremely easy to pull them over concrete, dirt, and grass. The Eurmax was followed closely by the Quick-Set Escape and E-Z Up Pyramid. Every stress point on the Quick-Set Escape is reinforced, and all its seams are double-stitched and taped. We feel the E-Z Up Pyramid is almost as well-made as the Eurmax; however, its frame and canopy materials are slightly thinner.

Setting up the screenhouse you need an army of people to hold the frame in place to put the screen over. Then the hooks don’t even reach the holes at the bottom of the poles. Then if you can manage to get that far, you have to run like crazy to get it tied ozark trail screen house down before if falls over. This tent is only $47 at Walmart, however that is not the point. The hubs on the tent and the construction of the design are worthless. We bought this screen tent about 2 years ago and just took it out of the box to put it up.
