One area for improvement on many cheaper uprights is with their filtration, and the CleanView Swivel Pet’s filtration could use some improvement too. Well-designed sealed systems keep fine debris and particulates in the vacuum’s dustbin as opposed to returning them to the room being cleaned. One thing to look out for is that the CleanView Swivel Pet’s vacuum head tends to tilt upward when vacuuming under furniture. It happens once the handle reaches a certain point as it is moved toward the ground. As a result, if the bottom of the vacuum isn’t in direct contact with the floor, it won’t be picking up any dirt or debris. Up to this point, all of the upright vacuums we have tested in this price range have unfortunately been pretty awful.
When it comes to cleaning stairs, this model could have been better. The hose on this vacuum can only reach 5 feet, and at 14 pounds, it isn’t incredibly bissell pet vacuum heavy, but it isn’t the lightest. More frequent carrying up and down the stairs and an average weight hurt this model’s overall handling score.
The powerful suction pulls excess moisture out of the fabric to aid in drying time and ensures your upholstery isn’t overly saturated. On test, the Bissell CleanView Pet Slim Cordless Stick Vacuum made light work of collecting fine dust, cereal and bissell pet vacuum cookie crumbs from carpets. It sucked up every scrap of the debris we scattered in just one sweep, on both suction levels. We found the vacuum gilded easily, on both hard floors and carpet, although we did notice its weight while pushing it around.
The Pet Hair Eraser is a traditional upright with a larger dirt compartment, better maneuverability, and superior performance on carpeted surfaces. You can also use it in a semi-handheld configuration to clean hard-to-reach areas. Meanwhile, the CrossWave is a hybrid vacuum mop that can easily clean stains and deal with liquid spills. The slim handle doesn’t feel bulky or cumbersome, and the attachment is lighter than my vacuum cleaner attachments, which is helpful for detail work. The Bissell Little Green is perfect for cleaning car upholstery or stairs due to its lightweight and portable design.
Its electric cleaner head is the best among the vacs we’ve tested. The Airbelt K3 Premium’s 12-inch electric cleaner head has a motorized brush roll that lifts and agitates dirt into the tube. The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo is an upright vacuum designed for tackling pet hair. Compared to other upright vacuums, like the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind, the BISSELL does a decent job picking up hair on low and high-pile carpet but struggles more on bare floors. It also doesn’t come with a pet grooming brush like the Dyson Ball Animal 2, which is a little disappointing. On the upside, this vacuum has one unique Febreze-scented pre-motor filter to help keep down odors around your house.
Among the app-controlled robots we tested, we liked Roborock’s app the best. It is user-friendly and intuitive, it learns your floor plan in a single mapping session, and it can store multiple maps for different levels of your home in both 2D and 3D. Via the app, you can turn on auto-boost mode—good for fur-covered carpets—and schedule cleaning sessions.
