Ozark Trail 12 x 14 Screen House Reviews

The screen house can accommodate up to 8 people, making it a versatile and practical option for various outdoor activities. And don’t worry about the airflow — these mesh walls and roof vents let the breeze flow freely, making it perfect for those warmer nights. The Ozark Trail 12-Person Cabin Tent with Convertible Screen Room has been my go-to camping buddy for the past few months. I was drawn to this tent due to its spacious nature, allowing my family and I to all fit comfortably inside.

This summer I had it up in the backyard after a birthday party for several days and one of the poles broke during a bad storm while I was at work. I will return it to the place of purchase for a full refund and I’ll purchase another brand and I will let all my camping friends and every campground I go to about ur crappy products and service. Browse Ozark Trail’s top-rated hiking and camping gear and more. Had I have known that this particular screen house was so hard to find, I would have bought a kit and tried to repair it. If anyone reading this review has any idea where I can purchase another one just like it, please contact me at I am now ready to put up the screen house on my back patio so my grandchildren can play without the bugs getting them or the sun burning them along with eating out there.

The zip-open windows and mesh walls that convert one side of the tent into a screen room were a fantastic feature, letting in natural light and fresh air while keeping the bugs out. Setting up the screen house was incredibly easy, thanks to the color-coded poles and plastic hubs. The durable steel support poles and fiberglass pole roof gave us confidence in the product’s sturdiness, even in windy conditions. The tent’s polyester taffeta and mesh with a PE sheet floor offer a durable and waterproof experience, giving you peace of mind during those unexpected downpours. A game changer for a bit of privacy when camping with a larger group. The Mac Sports wagon’s skinny rubber wheels, compared with larger-wheeled models we tested, sunk into the sand a bit during testing.

The rest of the process was funny too, with wimpy frizzy guylines, and inexplicable bits of plastic that are supposed to tighten them. Will I come home and just find the screenhouse gone, or will I see it blowing around in the street, trailing pipe segments? For the moment, my dream of an extra room in the back yard has come true. This is totaly wrong that a company doesn’t keep parts in stock. I was told to try and return it to the place I purchased it or wait the 4-6 weeks.

But, the slightest wind or rain and the whole thing comes down because of flimsy roof design. After multiple storms/fall downs, the screen portion has suffered some massive wounds. It is of poor design, in that this could be avoided using 2 more yellow, curved roof poles which would not allow the rain to puddle on the roof. My husband and I were in the screen room, keeping the rain from puddling for more than a half hour.

Both Base Camp tents have two doors and lots of mesh in the main tent body. But unlike the Mineral King 3 and the Tungsten 4, the mesh on each Base Camp tent starts high on the walls—more than 4 feet from the ground. This design is a big plus for people who regularly camp in crowded campgrounds and don’t like to get naked in front of strangers. And you can unzip the front door, remove it, and neatly stash it into one of the tent’s internal pockets—a useful feature if you’re feeling sociable.

The 190T polyester fabric is great for providing shade, and the included zippered storage carry bag is a convenient bonus. However, I noticed that it’s not water-resistant, so it’s best to use it in dry conditions. One feature that I really appreciate is the two doors, which make entering and exiting the screen house a breeze.

The Ozark Trail Instant Screen House offers convenience and comfort for outdoor enthusiasts in a simple and straightforward package. One of the standout ozark trail chairs features of this tent is its convertible screen room. We’ve enjoyed setting it up as a separate living area, perfect for lounging and playing games.
