The alternative — the new and more popular Series 7 70 (360 Flex) — is in my opinion an inferior shaver in every aspect. It even manages to capture flat hairs that go in different directions quite well, although is not as good as the Series 9 in that regard. There are a lot of currently available versions, but what you need to know is that they all shave the same. Things will be even more difficult if you shave less often and your beard is longer. As such, you don’t really need to get a Series 5 50 or a Series 6 to benefit from the trimming accessories.
Those heads have really poor performance and the blades will get blunt after only a few shaves. As with any electric shaver, proper use and maintenance will ensure many years of service from your Braun (although rare unlucky failures do happen regardless of how well you take care of it). Some stations are and some aren’t compatible with shavers from a different series. And that’s because the cc models cost quite a lot more and those series are also supposed to be more budget-friendly.
The cleaning station situation is just slightly more complicated in the case of the Series 8 since we have two generations of shavers. Using a manual razor raises slight risks of getting ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and razor burn—especially if you’re not prepping your shaving routine properly and not using a clean blade. If a close shave is your top priority, you may find that an electric razor simply cannot compare to a manual one. In addition to use braun hair removal with facial hair, they can also be used on the chest, back, legs, etc. While it is okay to use your shaver on the edges of your scalp, using a Braun Series device to completely shave your scalp can prematurely dull the blades. It’s on the simple side in terms of features, but that doesn’t mean it sacrifices on power.
Also, the 85 models are pretty much the same as the previous 84 Series 8 except for some new colors. The cassette is almost identical as well and only the foil frame shape is slightly different. When the Series 8 was released, the old Series 7 was still in production and the sales were strong. In theory, since 8 is larger than 7, the Series 8 should be the superior shaver. The beard trimming attachments are also a plus if you sometimes rock a beard.
