I purchase dried chicken from Mountain House and add it to most meals. Results are best if I place the chicken and vegetables in water when I first arrive at camp to increase their hydrating time. This is a personal choice because I’d rather ozark trail backpack have some wetness on my lower body and not be sweating and cold all over. I sweat under the best of rain shells when hiking hard in moderately cold temps. The umbrella gives me a little roof to walk under, but it’s not for everybody.
The front and hip straps make it very comfortable and takes alot of the pressure of your shoulders and back. Anyhow, at 15 miles per day, I would get back to Walker Pass and reach Harts Pass in mid to late August. With a month to hike through Washington and a month to hike through Oregon, that would put me in Ashland, OR toward the end of October.
The Ozark Trail (OT) is one of America’s premier distance hiking trails. Mostly divided into linked sections, the trail winds through 390 miles of rolling hills, stone bluffs and cool streams in central and southern Missouri. I don’t make it a habit of buying my gear from Walmart, but this was a excellent purchase. Used for its intended purpose, this is one of the best hiking/backpacking deals I’ve ever come across. This daypack came in handy just for what I intended. Aside from the main pack bag, there is a small zippered compartment on the front, that, depending on how much you have stuffed inside, is pretty tight. I managed to fit my headlamp, lighter, map, compass, and some tp in the pocket.
