The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max uses a conventional upright configuration and isn’t suitable for cleaning the inside of your car. The sounders and strobes can malfunction and cause the fire alarm system to fail to alert consumers of a fire. The recalled fog liquid can expire sooner than the expiration date listed on the product. This can pose a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold. It weighs almost exactly as much as the corded BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, but its redesigned handle places less weight in your hand as you maneuver it around.
Another selling point of the Crosswave is that unlike the other devices, which are marketed as “hard floor cleaners,” the Crosswave’s mop vac function is indicated for area rugs, too. But it’s not a true carpet cleaner and I wasn’t impressed with the rug-cleaning power of any of the Crosswaves I tried. In fact, I tested all 12 mop vacs on my rugs and they were all underwhelming. It’s bissell vacuum cleaner heavier, didn’t pick up as much on the first pass, left more water on the floor, and didn’t alert me when the clean water tank was empty. The fresh water comes from the machine’s fresh water tank and works with a rotating soft brush roller to mop the floor. In the same pass, the mop vac sucks the used water back into a separate dirty water tank where it filters out any solid debris.
Cleaning with my CrossWave is such a breeze that I regret not investing in one sooner. It swivels and glides with ease—maneuvering around furniture and corners takes almost no effort. I also love that you can switch from cleaning hard floors to rugs with a push of a button. Because the vacuum sucks up most of the liquid bissell vacuum cleaner used to clean, the floor dries within a few minutes. Back in the old manual-mop days, most of the floors in my apartment took at least 15 minutes to air-dry, and the tile floor by the stove always stayed wet for at least half an hour. Its floorhead pivots, allowing you to maneuver around obstacles pretty easily.
The Eureka All in One Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner is another corded mop vac and it’s very similar to the corded Crosswave Pet Pro. It’s a little louder and slightly less smooth to maneuver than the Crosswave, but it does have a more attractive black and white body and comes with a couple of handy tools for cleaning the machine. Considering the quieter, cordless Tineco iFloor 3 is only about $50 more than the Eureka (at the time of publication, anyway), it’s easy to pass on this one. Bissell’s newest, wet-dry vacuum cleaner promises a cordless, light, easy-to-use appliance to help bring some sanity back into families’ lives.
