The most innovative CrossWave® machine yet, the CrossWave® OmniForce™ Wet Dry Vac, delivers the best of both a mop and vacuum, equipped to tackle crumbs and kibble in Power Vac mode and muddy paw prints in Power Mop mode. The duality of the cordless machine makes it the ideal everyday product for households with a variety of mess-makers, from cats and dogs to kids and partners. Unfortunately, the size and unique design didn’t quite translate to more cleaning power and the FloorMate Deluxe somehow felt like too much and not enough for my cleaning up everyday messes in my house.
No mop vac is fun to clean, and unlike robovacs, there isn’t a pricey model that has an auto-empty feature… yet. But many have a self-cleaning cycle that you can engage after cleaning once the mop vac is back on its charging dock. You still have to empty the dirty water tank and deal with the debris, and some are easier to clean than others. So I looked at how easy/hard/gross it was to clean the dirty water tanks, debris traps, dust bins, and washable filters.
It uses a less powerful suction motor than the corded BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro and is likely to have more trouble drawing out debris wedged deep within cracks and crevices. Like the corded model, swapping between the ‘Hard Floor’ and ‘Area Rug’ modes doesn’t impact suction performance, as these settings don’t alter brushroll height or motor output. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is a passable option for cleaning staircases. It feels lightweight in your hand, while its cordless design ensures you won’t trip over a power cord. It performs remarkably well on bare surfaces, though it can have a hard time on low-pile carpeting.
The water tank has clearly legible fill lines for cleaning either large or small spaces. My budget pick, the iFloor3, doesn’t have nearly as many features as my top pick, but it cleaned better, more quietly, and more efficiently than vacuum mop combos from other big brands. It easily clears away small and bulky debris like rice and cereal, with no significant loss in suction performance as its dustbin fills up. The new CrossWave OmniForce machine doesn’t just clean up after pets, it helps save them, too.
The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max uses a conventional upright configuration and isn’t suitable for cleaning the inside of your car. The sounders and strobes can malfunction and cause the fire alarm system to fail to alert consumers of a fire. The recalled fog liquid can expire sooner than the expiration date listed on the product. This can pose a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold. It weighs almost exactly as much as the corded BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, but its redesigned handle places less weight in your hand as you maneuver it around.

Cleaning with my CrossWave is such a breeze that I regret not investing in one sooner. It swivels and glides with ease—maneuvering around furniture and corners takes almost no effort. I also love that you can switch from cleaning hard floors to rugs with a push of a button. Because the vacuum sucks up most of the liquid bissell crosswave cordless used to clean, the floor dries within a few minutes. Back in the old manual-mop days, most of the floors in my apartment took at least 15 minutes to air-dry, and the tile floor by the stove always stayed wet for at least half an hour. Its floorhead pivots, allowing you to maneuver around obstacles pretty easily.
BISSELL has received 66 reports of the vacuum smoking and emitting a burning odor; including five reports of the battery pack catching on fire, three of which resulted in minor property damage and one resulting in a burn injury. Any parts that you wash under water should be left to dry completely before refitting them. Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC. The blocked vent switch (BVS) can fail to shut down the burners if the boilers are installed at altitudes above 5,400 feet and the vent system becomes blocked.
The Eureka All in One Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner is another corded mop vac and it’s very similar to the corded Crosswave Pet Pro. It’s a little louder and slightly less smooth to maneuver than the Crosswave, but it does have a more attractive black and white body and comes with a couple of handy tools for cleaning the machine. Considering the quieter, cordless Tineco iFloor 3 is only about $50 more than the Eureka (at the time of publication, anyway), it’s easy to pass on this one. Bissell’s newest, wet-dry vacuum cleaner promises a cordless, light, easy-to-use appliance to help bring some sanity back into families’ lives.
I can’t stop talking about how much I love owning a mop vac—and how glad I am to have power over what I cook for dinner again. These days I cook and fry and splatter oil as much as I need to, knowing that when I clean the floor after, it’ll actually be clean. I started shopping for mop vacs, and after an bissell crosswave cordless hour or so of reading reviews and considering my budget, I landed on the Bissell CrossWave. It’s considerably quieter than the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, presumably thanks to its smaller, less powerful suction motor. If you run it within an enclosed room, people nearby aren’t likely to be disturbed.
