But thanks to made-in-Portugal production it’s much cheaper than we expected, without cutting corners. And new BiTurbo RSX mountain bike wheels take the monocoque full carbon 6-spoke platform to new levels with a 33mm internal width, yet still a few grams shaved off. I’m only 115 pounds and, historically, I’ve found it difficult to ride deep dish wheels in wind gusts, and I knew the desert would be quite windy. I’ve also had issues in the past with wheel wobbles on descents, especially with deeper dish wheels. However, since getting my Lún 60 mm disc set in January, I had never had a problem with crosswinds in Florida, even where it’s super windy off the beach.
The limited battery range and some minor performance issues may be drawbacks for some, but overall, the Hyper E-Ride bikes offer a great entry point into the world of e-bikes.
