Trailmate® 24-Can Backpack

One of the major selling points of the Igloo Trailmate, in our eyes, is the myriad of features that come standard with this cooler. We were initially pumped about this array of features, though our excitement lessened throughout testing. The plug leash – a great feature for any cooler – is attached in a way that we had a pretty hard time unscrewing the actual plug, and typically had to use two hands to accomplish.

Unfortunately, that little white box slides up and off the cooler as soon as you apply pressure – not a great handle, so the retracted trolley arm will have to do. Our least favorite aspect in terms of usability is the drain found in this cooler. Though it has a wide channel to help empty it of meltwater, the inside of the drain also is turned into a protruding tunnel into the interior by a white plastic tube.

First things first, The Yeti’s Haul is of course wheeled but it comes with a 55 qt capacity only unlike the Trailmate that’s 70 qt. Also, this latter comes with huge wheels that offer 10 inches of clearance off the ground while the Yeti Haul is not as high and bulky. The Trailmate, in its 3 versions; the igloo trailmate cooler Journey, the Marine and the Liddup, is one hell of a versatile cooler that can perform as good in all different outdoor environment and situations. The built quality, though it’s not Bear Proof like Yeti Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler…, is quite robust which suggests that it’s capable of taking some beating.

Its enormous haggles leeway guarantee smooth route in any circumstance. It likewise brags a broad reach highlights, taking care of all of your cooling needs. From holding your telephone to obliging a shade umbrella for the whole family, this cooler takes care of you. Overall, this cooler crushed the trails and kept ice for days. If you need a go anywhere cooler that looks cooler than most may be suggest the Trailmate Cooler from Igloo.

This feature is something that you will find on very few other coolers on the market and it is a great way to stand out from the crowd while having a nifty feature. Additionally, its telescoping trolley handle provides an ample amount of space between the front of the cooler and the backs of your heels. This added space makes the Igloo the only wheeled cooler we tested that we never hit our heels on – a pretty big deal. And while we greatly appreciate this fact, we feel that the Trailmate still can’t quite live up to the smooth ride we got from coolers with air-filled tires. We should also add that the telescoping handle doesn’t have a smooth action — it definitely doesn’t feel high quality or built to last a decade. The Igloo managed to hold refreshing brew temperatures at or below 50º for an additional several hours, for a total of 3.4 days of cold beers.

Its open 70-quart limit fits up to 112 jars (that is a great deal of Bud Light) and saves drinks cold for over three days. There’s an inside food bin that keeps food suspended over the beverages so that sandwiches don’t get wet and awful. Finally, one of the most important aspects is the mobility of this cooler. I quickly learned that this cooler is made to go over far more than than pavement.

Its spacious 70-quart capacity fits up to 112 cans (that’s a lot of Bud Light) and keeps beverages cold for more than three days. There’s an interior food basket that keeps food suspended above the drinks so that sandwiches don’t get wet and nasty. A common complaint that people have when it comes to these large coolers is their lack of mobility. Igloo has found a way to solve that issue in addition to offering up a lot of really cooler other features. The ice life and build quality are at acceptable levels and the styling is really sweet.

The huge wheels have excellent grips and, combined with the glide handle, allow you to easily tow the ice chest over rough terrain. In addition to the mobility aspect, there are tons of other awesome features that very few other coolers can say that they have. This includes things such as a butler try, storage pocket, built-in bottle openers, food basket, optional LED light, and more. We built our up-for-anything cooler so it’ll roll right over rough terrain like it’s on a paved path.
