It’s important to have an effective way to remove any water that’s left behind in the cooler when ice melts. Larger Ozark Trail coolers all feature an oversized drain on the side or bottom that makes getting rid of melted ice easy. The drain stopper is even attached to the cooler by a chain, so you don’t have to worry about losing it and dealing with leaks. For outdoor activities like camping, picnics, beach trips, and tailgating, having the right cooler to carry your food and beverages is key to enjoying your day. If you want a cooler that’s really going to keep your groceries cool, though, it’s important to choose one from a brand with a solid reputation. Ozark Trail is known for its durable, effective, and affordable coolers.
Both of these cooler brands offer T-Rex lid latches, easy-to-use threaded drain plug, rotomolded construction, industry-standard gasket, and premium insulation on their coolers. Actually, premium Ozark Trail soft-sided coolers are built within an EVA compression molded base, ozark trail canopy giving them that premium look and efficiency. Consequently, not only do these coolers look good but they are also highly resilient, reflective and heavily padded. I was so excited to get it home and run a test to see if it really holds ice longer than my Coleman 60 Quart Performance Wheeled Cooler. We purchased four bags of ice – two for each cooler – and got started. The Ozark Trail held ice one day longer than the Coleman and in general, the cooler felt cooler inside than the Coleman. Unfortunately, the deal breaker is that it intermittently leaked water from the drain spout.
YETI is sold with about 8 to 10 pretty attractive colors in their soft cooler and standard cooler lineup. Once again, another pretty cool feature from the Ozark Trail Premium Jumbo soft cooler is the integration of ‘Bottle Openers’. But, as the top of the YETI coolers is flat, you still can use that as a table. However, it will not be as reliable as drink holders for safely keeping the water and the drinks.
This can include things such as premature leaking, warping of the lid, and stitching coming undone. The asking prices for the various Ozark Trail Coolers will fluctuate quite a bit depending on which model you are going with. But seeing how Ozark Trail is in the business of making cost-effective products, all models should be affordable (particularly when compared to their industry competition). Also included in the 52 and 73-quart models is an internal wire basket. Oftentimes, this basket doesn’t come with the cooler and costs extra as an accessory. So we appreciate Ozark trail going ahead and throwing that in free of charge.
However, the Ozark Trail comes with concave edges, pretty-looking T-latches, glass holders, and a colored grip on the handle. All of these features make the ozark trail canopy brand eye candy. Thus, when you are purchasing a new cooler, you will want to get one that will last a long time. The backpack is zipper-closed, meaning that it’s very easy to operate.
