Ozark Trail vs Yeti Water Bottles, Flasks & Tumblers

As soon as we realized the Ozark Trail was not going to work I got online and ordered an RTIC. RTIC Coolers can only be purchased from their website, which is why they say their price point is much lower than YETI. I made this purchase nine weeks prior to our vacation and the cooler is scheduled to arrive only days before we leave. That’s a little closer than I’d like but we need a better cooler.

And it makes ozark trail chairs great for any weekend outing. Its ice life is among the best in the industry and its products are designed to last a lifetime. Depending on if you go with an Ozark Trail hard-sided cooler or an Ozark Trail soft-sided cooler, you can expect different features. We will break down the specific features for each type of ice chest in the sections below. As is typical of most other cooler brands, the smaller coolers will utilize an overhead carrying handle while the larger coolers will stick to traditional side rope handles.

As you can see the Yeti line of coolers are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the Ozark Trail line of coolers. Seeing as not many outdoor enthusiasts actually buy and use these things, my analysis of this (and Ozark Trail’s) lowball will be brief. You also might want to check out other Yeti coolers, such as the Yeti Soft Cooler or the Yeti Hopper Backflip Cooler.

This model’s interior bin features a handle, along with a locking plate on the outside. Yeti is a premium brand cooler with premium quality and sells for a premium price. They are one of the most expensive soft sided coolers on the market.

Ozark Trail’s medium and large hard-sided coolers are equipped with an interior wire basket to help organize your food. For a cooler of more manageable size and only $97.00, the Ozark Trail 35-quart hard sided cooler is a great choice. Its premium insulation makes for impressive ice retention, and the freezer-grade gasket is removable for quick cleanup.

As expected, the performance in this department is above average – this is, after all, a Yeti product. While it’s not as good as Yeti Tundra in this department, the Ozark Trail cooler undoubtedly offers a performance that is very impressive once we take its price into account. I think it’s pretty safe to say that this Ozark Trail cooler is a great choice if you’re looking for a cheaper cooler. I was also impressed by how much ice this premium cooler can hold.

Both the YETI and the Ozark Trail come with some exclusive features as well. We also see that booth the Ozark Trail and YETI feature anti-skid rubber feet on most of their top-of-the-line ozark trail cooler coolers. Due to that, you can place these coolers on any type of surface without any issues. Made from 600D coated polyester, this backpack is not only durable, but also leakproof.

The Ozark Trail soft coolers feature a leak proof zipper that is 100% water tight. It won’t let water in or out so you don’t have to worry about water spilling if you knock your cooler over or water splashing out and wetting your car seat. To me this just says the Ozark Trail soft coolers are hit and miss. Overall the quality is poor but there is a chance you may get a good cooler that lasts you years. But there’s also a solid chance that your cooler might break within the first few weeks or first few months.

The hard-sided coolers are designed to try to compete with the top-tier of the premium cooler world. Below you’ll see a comparison of the Ozark Trail soft sided coolers as well as the cost for some of the other popular soft-sided cooler brands. Ozark Trail hard-sided coolers are constructed of hard, sturdy plastic that locks in cold to protect your food and drinks. The brand’s hard-sided coolers are sized according to how many quarts they hold.

All in all, it’s a pretty solid ice chest and a major upgrade from some of the stryofoam and even Rubbermaid coolers of yore. The offer similar features and sizes to the Ozark Trail and their performance is much better. The RTIC Soft Pack coolers actually outperform the Yeti Hoppers because they have ozark trail canopy more insulation. Reviewing a product like this can be hard because the same issue doesn’t happen for everyone. Even the highest quality products sometimes have issues or manufacturing defects and customers leave poor review. For instance, the Ozark Trail 73 cooler can retain ice for up to 9 days.
