If you want to research bikes online, try looking at ‘commuter’ or ‘city’ bikes – which will have flat bars, as well as hybrids, or entry level ‘endurance road’ for drop bar bikes. Looking at the picture of the bike a few thoughts- the rear spring/shock will be gobbling up power as you pedal. Tighten the preload as much as you can (or replace the ‘shock’ with a solid tube).

Keeping in mind the total cost of the bike, I do not recommend spending money making it fit better – it will only ever be a comfort bike. My mistake was not looking up this bike before buying it, and not even knowing what a comfort bike was (I just assumed it was a hybrid and kent road bike did not know it was a comfort bike until I got home and googled it, woops). It’s a good bike, it’s comfortable to ride, stable and does what it’s supposed to do I guess, but it’s definitely not clicking with me. I feel like all the weight, the very upright riding position, suspension, and wide tires are making my pedaling way too inefficient, I can’t go as fast as I want to go.
Yes, although our bike mechanics may not be able to see you straight away if they’re got
other appointments booked in. Our full list of servicing, repair and fitting options is shown above, along with the prices for
each. Sometimes we may ask you to leave your bike with us so we can get one of our trained mechanics in place and / or order in the required parts. We aim to get fast fix jobs i.e. smaller repairs completed and straight back out where-ever possible. If the store is too busy to complete it on the spot they will book you in at the earliest available opportunity, but this may not be the same-day.
As part of any repair or service we check the bike to assess if any additional repairs are required. If we recommend additional work, we will provide you with a no obligation cost estimate and ask if you want to proceed or not. Book an assessment – some of our repairs and services require booking a bike assessment as we’ll need to establish what part is required and may kent road bike need to order in it. If you wish to proceed we’ll book your bike in at the earliest opportunity. Flat bars don’t necessarily mean the riding position is upright, there are plenty of models of bikes with flat bars and a faster riding position. Whether you’re a regular cyclist or a fair-weather enthusiast, your bike needs regular TLC to
keep it in tip-top condition.
If your bike or E-scooter is left with us for a repair or service we’ll book you into our system.
