When you’re looking at what you want in a tent, consider how many people are going to be using it. Is it for a large family or just used short camping trips? A bushwhack to Eleven Point River and 20 minutes of rest and water-gathering helped. The highlight of the day came at mile 9.4 – Brockman Spring. The lowest height in the tent, which is at the four corners, is about 65 inches. This is slightly taller than my height, so I could stand up everywhere inside the Ozark Trail Tent, even at the corners. Just slide the roof poles into place, then plug the side and corner poles into their designated hubs and raise it all up. Layout wise is virtually identical to the Core Instant Cabin we evaluated for our 10 person tent roundup, but delivers those same massive interior dimensions for about $100 less.
This ended up being my only night with other people on the entire trail. My next water source was Mint Spring and when I got there, two backpackers were getting ready to leave. It took a long time to collect water from the shallow spring, so they were long gone by the time I was ready.
