Eric “E C.” Carter Joins Hyper Bicycles To Boost Mountain Bike Awareness Mountain Bike Action Magazine

It’s not that I am a lazy person, it’s more that I was considering how I planned to use this bike. In my mind, I was envisioning a cold November evening having hunted all day and facing a ride back to camp with all of my gear. Hyper Bicycles has a long history in the sport of BMX, including a National Pro Championship in 1993, delivered by Eric Carter. This early success helped to establish Hyper as a major player in BMX.

I have tightened it a few times and it now finally stays in place, but it can be dangerous when it randomly slides over while riding. It has a dual steel suspension frame (front fork shocks and strut on the frame located under the seat area) that provides a comfortable ride for the 26′ Hyper Shocker Bike, even on off-road surfaces. Speech wheels, resin platform pedals, and a rear derailleur are other elements of this hyper bike. In terms of the 20 mile claim, we were able to easily accomplish this in city streets with minimal inclines.

As far as capability goes, the mountain bike itself is an easy rider and very comfortable to spend time on riding through the city or on trails. I’m by no means a diehard mountain bike rider, but I did find this bike to be very similar to entry level TREK that I used to have. As far as the ride goes, this bike is really comfortable and well built. This model has a 29″ frame built for riders 6′ and up, but Hyper also has a comparable bike with a 26″ frame for riders below 6′. It also comes stock with a Shimano 6 grip shifter and Shimano rear derailleur.

The dual suspension does a good job of absorbing bumps and making it smoother over gravel and trails. The suspension system that the Hyper uses is simply a shock absorber that allows for long, comfortable rides on smooth surfaces. The performance and durability of a mountain bike are combined with the comfort of a mountain bike.

That would have been fine, but we had already assembled most of the mountain bike and we didn’t want to repack the entire thing just to ship it out and get another mountain bike that we would have to reassemble. Suspension steel frame with suspension fork Front and rear linear pull brakes. “To be back with Hyper is a great opportunity that I’m very excited about to, say the least,”said E.C.. “To be handed the keys to the castle with the task of building a high end line of mountain bikes for the Hyper brand is both a big responsibility and honor. I will still be on the bike at all scheduled events but my role will be more directed toward educating riders about our products and growing the brand at a grass roots level, rather than focusing solely on results”.

Out of the box the manufacturer recommends that you charge the Ebike for a minimum of 4 hours before use, which I started before assembling the bike. True to the manual, after the 4 hour charge time was complete, I was ready to roll with full power available to me. All that was required on my end was installing the handlebars, pedals, and battery. The Hyper MTB Ebike came in a pretty large box, but that is to be expected when ordering any type of bicycle online. The box itself weighed over 50lbs, so if you aren’t comfortable moving around that much weight, grab a friend to help you bring your bike inside or where you plan to assemble it.

For an off road test I took the Hyper MTB Ebike to a local park wth 14 miles of easy – difficult trails. With the bike on the Medium setting, I was able to make it all the way through with the trail system with a little bit left in the tank. Overall I would hyper bike have to say I am not only happy with the performance but also happy to see the product description live up to it’s real world use. I have to say that I was far less skeptical of a pedal assist Ebike after breaking this out and taking it for a ride.

Based in Xiamen, China we have the advantage of being at the heart of the carbon fiber industry. It took only about 1⁄2 hour to assemble and included the seat, 2 pedals, front handlebar, 2 reflectors, and front wheel installation. It was well packed and took a bit to clip off the bike with all the cardboard protection, which did a great job of protecting hyper bicycles the painted frame from unintended blemishes. It’s a good starter bike, however it should be noted it’s not a perfect fit for everyone. It’s really a boys bike since I am 6’1″ and it’s just small for anyone over 5’6″-5’8″. Buying this made me realize you should go to a good bike shop and get fitted for a bike for your size and style of riding.

In the intervening years Hyper has maintained its position as a leader in BMX, with a full line of products for racing and freestyle riders. Hyper has also continued its commitment to the sport by sponsoring riders, teams, as well as being the series title sponsor for several major events. A few problems I found with the bike are as follows-

First, I don’t like how the handle bars are designed because you need a wrench to tighten them up and put them on. This is slightly annoying because other than the tires, everything else is assembled using hex keys (also known as an allen wrench). I would have prefered if the handlebars required Hex keys because you could use a multi-tool to quickly make adjustments while riding without needing any other items, but as it is now I always have to carry an adjustable wrench with me.

The instructions were not completely helpful for assembling the bike because they were basic and very general, but overall I found it easy to do and I had the entire thing setup in about an hour or so.
