Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade Review Instructions Ozark Trail Sun Shelter Setup

Our granddaughter used it one time and lost the rain fly. This is a great tent spacious, versatile, and the zippered pockets in the front are great. The biggest of my problems with this tent was maybe a zipper getting stuck, but that is understandable. It does ozark trail sun shelter take a little longer to set up (about 10 min.) but that’s just a price you have to pay for the size of this tent. Also for the guy that has the first review, no joke the tent collapsed snow is fairly heavy and then did you even set the tent up correctly.

It is easy to set up and take down, and I loved the fact that it has three windows for lots of circulation in the heat and humidity. The first time I got it set up was about that same day. My parents decided to do it and the setup was decent.

It was the perfect size bag to hold water bottles and a few other important things in it. The bad news is the rain leaks, the “GoBeDry” rain protection system just does not work. I sprayed the tent after the first use (I feel a tent should get a test run without water sealant the first time then if it leaks I will spray it with sealant). This tent leaked a little the first time after only one hour of rain. Then after putting sealant on the sides and rain-fly with spray and seam seal stick it still leaked. Lastly after only five times using it the shock cord pole for the rain-fly broke (the cord snapped).

At first, Walmart fought me on the return. I was told there was nothing they could do. Customer service stated that it was past the point where the purchase populated in their system. Eventually ozark trail sun shelter they gave in and provided store credit. In theory this item has a one year warranty. If used heavily, I can not see this product making it through a full camping or outdoor season.

This would be great for anyone that plans to sit down in the shelter. It performed admirably at first, being easy to set up and re-stow in the provided ruck-sack. The gear storage sacks are situated on opposite corners of the room. During set up one of the guys stepped on one of the poles breaking it. During the night some of the snow broke the other pole (both were in the section at the very end). As with any tent you need to glue the seams to prevent leaks.

The short pole supplied for that protrusion splintered in two places and poked about four small holes in the black fabric of the laundry bubble. Rather it should have been a large pocket on the inside of the tent that requires no pole at all. The Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade did exactly what we needed it to. It kept us out of the sun when we didn’t want to be in it.

The people who make your zippers should quit and get another profession. Your zippers are the worst in all camping gears I have bought. We put a small table and cooking supplies under the sun shade and this worked out nicely. Overall, I started out the trip happy with my purchase. The sun shield was a success considering the $50 price point.
