We held a public webinar on the Kent Road separated bike lane project held on Thursday 28 October 2021. Over the coming 12 months, we will assess the impact of the design changes through observation and further engagement with the community. Council will consider how to proceed with the bike lanes following the completion of this extended trial in mid-to-late 2023. Following a 12 month trial, Council resolved to continue the trial separated bicycle lanes on Kent Road for an additional 12 months, exploring more design options in consultation with the community.
Reservations can be made no more than 5 days in advance. A paved walkway provides access to the Splash ‘n’ Blast. All ground spray features and water cannons are accessible and located on a poured-in-place rubber surfacing.
WILDWING TRAIL – 1.75 MILES
A 1.75 mile trail of compact gravel, with wooden boardwalks and wooden bridges. This trail has shaded sections, full sun sections, areas that are steep, and areas that follow close along the water of Wildwing lake. This trail features an extensive boardwalk that provides scenic views of the marshlands along the eastern shore of Wildwing Lake. From the boardwalk you can also spot nesting great blue herons and great egrets in the heron rookery on the island in the lake. Within the Kent State University system, the main campus is officially referred to as the “Kent Campus”.[42] The Kent Campus is a landscaped suburban environment in the Greater Akron area.
Single-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am. Single-lane eastbound will be closed Saturday from 1 am to 7 am and Sunday from 2 am to 8 am. Single-lane westbound will be closed Saturday from 1 am to 6 am and Sunday from 2 am to 9 am.

Parts of the Park, including the tarmac track and mountain bike trails, can be booked by third parties such as clubs and groups. You will ride the mountain bike trails which takes in twists, turns, lumps ‘n bumps and small hills. DEER RUN TRAIL – 1.5 MILES
A 1.5 mile trail of compact gravel paths with wooden boardwalks. This mostly shaded trail is relatively flat and features two shortcuts that allow you to shorten the trail to a half mile or 1 mile loop. This trail travels through wetlands and mixed forest habitats.
Peak pricing tends to apply to weekend, closer to Christmas and earlier timeslots. Time slots vary depending on the date, but generally take place every 15 minutes between 4.15pm to 8pm. Some simple repairs are quick and can sometimes be carried out on the spot whilst other repairs can require more time and possibly require a part ordering in.
Players will be tested in communication skills, working as a team and good sportsmanship. We are well serviced by the main rail networks and Southeastern High Speed from London. Our nearest train stations are Deal (3 miles) or Sandwich (4 miles). Participants walk or run around the park finding your route between marker posts (controls) using the special orienteering map.
