Aside from the heavier weight, the only other negatives about this bike are the fact that there’s no quick release collar on the seatpost (you have to use a tool to lower or raise the seat), and there is no hand brake. While younger toddlers don’t need a brake, older ones will go thru the soles of a lot of pairs of shoes without one. While schwinn ebike it’s not the lightest weight balance bike on the market (the Hornit Airo weighs a mere 4 lbs), at 10 lbs the Specialized Hotwalk is quite maneuverable for older, more athletic toddlers. Well needless to say I have rode over a 1000 miles in 4 months and have lost about 65 lbs. Thanks to my cheetah I’m going to be around for a long time . The head tubes look as if they were fillet brazed, but they weren’t. The head tube and the tapered segments that lead into the the top tube and down tube were actually made from two special forgings that were “electro-forged” (welded) together down the centerline, then ground smooth, so the seam is not usually visible. There are necked-down parts that fit into the top tube and down tube, like internal lugs.
