If used heavily, I can not see this product making it through a full camping or outdoor season. Upon taking down the sun shield things started to go sideways. The structure is held up by foldable poles connected by an elastic ozark trail instant canopy band. There is glue on the ends of the fiberglass poles that keeps the ends of the poles in the required cap. This broke apart the poles from the cap fitting. I couldn’t believe that the glue failed on both sides.
There is only one shade, which can be put on either side of the sun shelter. You just angle the shelter where you need it, then attach the shade. It’s literally that easy and is very quick and efficient to set up.
After researching many different models, I decided upon the Ozark Trail Sun Shade. Overall, this tent is not worth it if rain is involved. It would be good for summer camping in the sun shade mode, or backyard camping for the kids, but I don’t know if I would risk it for backpacking. It is not very heavy, and not poorly constructed, but it just isn’t sturdy or waterproof. Spend a little more money and get a better tent. The Ozark Trail instant sun shade was incredibly easy to put up and even easier to take down.
Touch the side of the tent and water droplets will immediately fall through. The bottom of then tent is an awfully loud and cheap poly material.
