We recommend that you ride this bike on relatively flat and hard surfaces such as sidewalks, beach board walks, or city roads. In this capacity the Hyper shocker mountain bike can be very enjoyable. Designed for use with the Japanese brand’s 12-speed MTB cassettes, the Shimano Micro Spline hub has 23 splines which are broadly similar to those on the new 12-speed road freehub. Ratchets might seem the obvious hyper bike choice for high-stress applications, but if the angle of engagement is the priority, an offset pawl system may be better. Industry Nine uses six offset pawls in its Hydra freehubs which, combined with a 115-tooth drive ring, produce a huge 690 points of engagement, giving an angle of engagement of just over half a degree. The suspension that the Hyper uses is actually called shock absorbers and they provide a very smooth ride over long distances on smooth surfaces. The main features that distinguish the Hyper bike from the other bikes are the fact that it has a full suspension system. The other bike that uses this system is the K-Edge road bike which has a triple triple-disc brake system on its front wheel and a fixed rear wheel. A lot of attention has been given to the graphics and the colors on this new bike. There are some very striking and eye-catching graphics such as the rainbow-cross design, which is actually the name of the bike. The Hyper mountain bike also comes in a number of different colored graphics which can be changed easily at the touch of a button.
Freehubs from Campagnolo and other brands are easier to service. On its outer surface, a freehub has a set of splines, onto which the cassette (i.e. the gear sprockets) is slid when a bike is assembled. In general, the cassette comprises a set of individual sprockets or clusters of sprockets. For many riders, it’s a case of fit and forget, but there’s a lot going on with your freehub. It’s got some tricky mechanical parts that are hidden away inside it, which will sometimes need a little tender loving care to keep them working well. I’m only 115 pounds and, historically, I’ve found it difficult to ride deep dish wheels in wind gusts, and I knew the desert would be quite windy.

The standard mountain bike seat for the highest riders is far too narrow and it may lead to problems on rocky terrain with speed. Unlike many mountain bikes the Hyper Shocker has 18 speeds rather than 21 which is not ideal, however for riding in the city this will be totally sufficient for all of your biking needs. For true mountain biking you would need the extra gears to making it up steeper hills but for flat roads the extra gears are not as necessary. If you will be riding this bike where we recommend the 18 speeds will be more than enough for you to enjoy riding the bike. For example, their $600 electric mountain bike may be surprising but it turns out to be efficient and promising.Once again, as in many other cases, you have to identify your needs before buying.
Hyper Bikes produces both road and mountain bikes, and its products are used by professional cyclists as well as recreational riders. They’re still found on older bikes and the majority of modern hyper bicycles singlespeed bikes. They’ve been superseded by the freehub on multi-speed bikes though, because it’s lighter and more compact, so it can handle smaller sprockets and wider gear ranges.
