Coleman 8 Person Instant Camping Tent 14 x 10 Express Setup

The packed size is not so great indeed, but here too, you would use the car in any case, so the 47 inches (120 cm) of the packed length may not be such a big deal. Everything is fine with this tent as long as you do not have long spells of rain. So if the vestibule is important, i.e., you will be using the tent in areas with a lot of rain, you might want to consider something different, like this Nemo Wagontop 6.

Air flows easily when all screens are not used and the windows are fully opened. By opening the vents and the windows, there shouldn’t be any issue for condensation. When the windows are shut and the coleman sundome vents are closed, condensation may happen as some users reported. Leaks in moderate to heavy rain and tent corners break easily. If someone could make them out of metal it would be a great tent.

Like most 2 person tents this instant tent is very lightweight and super portable. I’ve been able to borrow the 4 person version from family and it was much nicer for two people. That being said for one person the 2 person pop up tent is absolutely perfect, and it’s a great size for kids. The smaller size does make the Coleman two person instant slightly better for colder weather as it’s easy for two people to keep it as warm as you can keep a tent.

On that same note, the Coleman 2 man instant tent will not fit a queen size air mattress, you will have to get the 4 person version for that. After 3 years of weekend camping trips, I’d say the Coleman 2 person pop up tent is very durable and has held up much better than expected. After 3 years of regular use, I can honestly say that I really like the Coleman 2 person instant tent. The Coleman instant tent is waterproof and in my experience does really well in even heavy rains. The entire instant tent weighs only 6 lbs, that’s counting the small included tent stakes, storage bag and pop up tent. It still works for two people though, and it’s not any smaller than a regular sized 2 person tent, we just like a little more space in our tent when camping.

We are going to see if it’s  worth the above average price tag, or whether its better settling for an instant cabin tent for example. This article will break down every single aspect of the tent, giving you all the pertinent info you need before making your decision. On our camping trip, the four-person tent, which costs just $136.99, did in fact set up with ease. Unfold the bundle of nylon and interlinked poles from its duffel bag and the shelter almost pops to its shape. Generally speaking, yes, most instant camping tents can be set up by one person. Lastly, this instant camping tent features a quick under-three-minute setup.

This two-person tent is perfect for a romantic couples’ camping adventure. Gazelle is one of my favorite camping gear brands–they make some of the best tents available on the market right now. Not sure where to begin with shopping for one of these quick set-up tents? It’s okay, the idea of trying out a new tent style can seem daunting when you’re first getting started. Some of these quick tents pop up within only 10 seconds, meaning more time to enjoy nature with your friends or family.

Assembling this tent is easy thanks to the pre-attached poles which click into place, forming the cabin shape of the tent. The floor material is durable enough that unless you are camping on rocky terrain, it should provide adequate protection. If you are planning a winter camping trip, do not take this tent with you as it won’t provide enough protection for you to have an enjoyable – or safe! Overall, the mesh design of this affordable tent provides proper ventilation in the summer to keep you cool. The 4-Person model is better at dealing with wind because it has a smaller peak height and vertical walls. Tall men and women may face some difficulties with headroom as the tent’s center height is 6 feet.

The tent is freestanding, so any additional pegging can be accomplished at your leisure (unless wind is a factor). You’ll also want to set aside some extra time to strap on the secondary rainfly should you opt to purchase this along with the tent, but we’ll talk more about that later on. It’s also worth noting that this tent can easily be set up by only one person, something that cannot be said for several of the two-person tents in our review.

The most challenging part might be getting the additional rainfly over the peak height of the tent body. Pitching this tent is quick and easy, which leaves you plenty of time to rest and enjoy your holiday with your family. That makes this an excellent choice for family camping trips during fair-weather months. However, the Instant Tent also has a handful of drawbacks that make it less than universally appealing.
