What they owned in “build quality” they lacked in brand connectivity. Genesis was hired to help create a brand visual language to help tie the products genesis bike into a cohesive whole in the global marketplace. Finding the center of the brand design was based on our uncovering the “truth in materials” position.
The Core 26.4 came fitted with 2.2 Mountain Kings, the originals not the much improved Mountain King II. It can be rated as one of the cheapest mountain bikes with good value for money. The brakes are used with disc brakes on the front and rear of the bike, making for a nice look. As with the Day One, there are mudguards, rear pannier rack, and an internally geared rear hub for all weather dependability. These bikes are designed for longer days out being able to handle heavier loads and rougher roads.
We’ve seen that the suspension can wear out over time depending on how aggressively you ride it. The Genesis™ bicycle rack has the simple “floating” concentric rings that look like an attractive outdoor sculpture. When full, these same concentric rings park bikes safely and securely. The Genesis™ offers two contact points, at front and rear, for locking. The unique concentric design of the Genesis™ bike rack helps guide bikes into proper parking position while providing double the parking space of typical serpentine racks. The aluminum structure of the whole body is lighter in weight, which makes it suitable for the first mountain bike.
While aesthetically, the quality of the bike was fantastic, I did run into quality issues. The front shock squeaked when I went over bumps, and the front derailleur wouldn’t shift through all of the gears. I’m honestly not sure if it was just my bike, or if all of these bikes are that way, but it gave just enough, but not too much suspension in the rear.
This further increases mud clearance and also adds to the frame’s compliance, providing better control. Definitely not a versatile bike; this is designed with only CX racing in mind and makes no compromises – except for, perhaps, its two sets of genesis bicycles bottle bosses. A rim brake version is available in addition to the disc option and both come with Shimano Ultegra 2×11 groupsets. The maximum tyre size on bike is 28c, typical for rim brake set ups but relatively narrow for a bike with discs.
This MTB also comes with a comfortable padded seat which is easy to remove and adjust by unlocking it at the base and pulling it out. The full suspension frame on this bike is really one of the more essential parts to allowing this bike to ride through almost any terrain out there. These steel-tube endurance bikes are perfect for long highway rides because they reduce road noise. These frames can accommodate panniers and mudguards, increasing their versatility. The exterior cable routing and threaded bottom brackets will please mechanics. Front disc brake and rear V-brake, although the braking performance of a disc brake is better than V-brake, the Genesis V2100 mountain bike is still designed with V-brake on the rear wheel.
There are strengthening gussets where the down tube and top tube meet the tapered head tube and the seat stays are an old school wishbone style, the lack of a bridge gives ample mud clearance. Mountain bikes are not just a means of transportation for daily travel. It is no different from both transportation and fitness equipment.
