MV now claim 208bhp from its 998cc four (rising to 212 with race kit), a dry weight of 186kg, a top speed ‘over 300kph’ (if you can hang on) to go with its oddball looks, twin pipes and more. Time doesn’t stand still and, when it comes to speed, it goes, well, fast. In short, since we last compiled this list in 2020 the world’s moved on. An all-new Suzuki Hayabusa has arrived, there’s a new, homologation-spec version of BMW’s S1000RR, the M1000RR, the Norton takeover has seen a new, completely re-engineered version of its V4, the V4SV and many more. It’s also probably time to consider electric superbikes, such as Energica’s Ego+ RS.

The balanced supercharged engine delivers both exhilarating acceleration and superb fuel efficiency. The key to achieving this balance was increasing the engine’s thermal efficiency by utilizing a high compression ratio. Designed for high-performance racing engines, the premium dog-ring transmission allows for smooth, precise, quick shifting. Rather than shifting gears into place, the gears in this configuration stay in place, with the lightweight dog rings moving to engage the gears. A high-quality hydraulic Assist and Slipper clutch minimizes wheel chatter caused by rapid downshifting and self-adjusts to ensure consistent performance and smooth actuation.

Box GTS infotainment system that has Bluetooth, radio, USB connection, SirusXM (if you have the service) and a rider/passenger intercom option. Accordingly, the bikes are designed for fully fledged dynamics, powered by gas and endorphins. It’s up to us whether we relax and let the impressions sink in or dynamically race past. Equipped with high levels of comfort and attractive design as well as premium communication and navigation options.

Riders can take their personal items easily with them both on and off the bike thanks to Suzuki fuel filler-mount tank bags that clip on and off in seconds. Hayabusa’s front turn signals are incorporated in the position lights, a first for a Suzuki motorcycle. A key hyper bike feature of the instrument cluster is the TFT LCD panel centrally mounted between the speedometer and tachometer. By using two display methodologies, the TFT LCD panel can display a variety of information in formats that are easily recognizable and attractive.

The two Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) intake ducts in the upper fairing route high-pressure, fresh air to the air cleaner boosting performance in a linear fashion as the road speed increases. The Hayabusa is equipped with Suzuki’s Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle body system which provides light, natural response with linear control like that of a conventional throttle. The connecting rod design that reduces weight (by 3 grams each rod) from the prior generation part while also increasing rigidity. hyper bike Using techniques developed for the GSX-R1000, the crankcases have lubrication passages that provide 54% more oil flow to the crankshaft than the prior generation engine to help increase durability. The powerful, 1,340cc, inline-four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine supplies a seamless surge of torque for effortless acceleration. The Hayabusa is instantly recognizable as its wind-cheating body preserves the cues that were inspired by the peregrine falcon – the world’s fastest animal.

The Hayabusa has the latest version of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) clutch that delivers a lighter clutch lever pull than ever before. SCAS serves as a back-torque-limiting system for smooth downshifts while increasing plate tension during acceleration to ensure engine power is effectively transmitted to the rear wheel. The Hayabusa’s six-speed, close-ratio, and constant-mesh transmission can be shifted hyper bike conventionally or with the bi-directional quick shift system allowing the rider to select racing-style, conventional, or casual riding clutchless shifts.
