Once the structure is up, all you have to do is attach the detachable sun shade. There is only one shade, which can be put on either side of the sun ozark trail straight leg canopy shelter. You just angle the shelter where you need it, then attach the shade. It’s literally that easy and is very quick and efficient to set up.
It kept us out of the sun when we didn’t want to be in it. I don’t see why you would spend more money on the more expensive sun shades, when the Ozark Trail did such a great job. It kept anyone out of the sun who chose to be that day. It was nice having some refuge when you wanted it. Whether you were just hot, or starting to sun burn, it definitely served it’s purpose.
Also note that you must choose the same color for both tumblers or you will not be able to add this bundle to your cart. I set up the tent by myself in a few minutes. There are all hooks, that you hook into the poles, so it is quick, but not the most secure. You could probably do it in the dark, if you had to. The legs are locked into place with old school metal push button locks, something you won’t see on many modern pop up tents now-a-days. These push locks get very difficult to use over time, especially if the tent is used on the beach and exposed to sand and saltwater, causing rust build up. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The legs extend to give the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath. It’s worth highlighting that despite the advertised dimensions of the 10×10 Ozark Trail, because this is a slant leg shelter the top only measures 8×8. While it might not sound like much, that is a difference of 64 sq.
The Ozark Trail instant sun shade was incredibly easy to put up and even easier to take down. This will be coming with us to the beach and any sporting outings where we will be exposed to the weather. First off, this is an affordable solution for a sun shelter.
