Roomba, SharkNinja, and the $3 billion battle of the robot vacuums

“The Eufy RoboVac 11S earns a Very Good rating in our carpet cleaning test and does even better on bare floors.” It’s the best budget robot vacuum on our list, and for good reason. If you are looking for the best clean for your buck and want to avoid the possibility that the robot won’t finish its run because of stray clutter, the Roomba j7 is the one to go with. Its cleaning prowess is largely unmatched thanks to the decades of experience iRobot has in this space, and it’s one of the easiest robot vacuums to use. The app is simple and uncluttered, with new features added frequently.

The low-profile design of this vacuum allows the Shark Ion Robot to clean beneath furniture. You don’t have to worry about this vacuum cleaner getting stuck underneath furniture. The dual spinning side brushes pull in debris and dirt from corners and edges. They work by pulling debris out of the range of the vacuum and dragging it to the center where the main brush roll can pick it up.

The most intimate image we saw was the series of video stills featuring the young woman on the toilet, her face blocked in the lead image but unobscured in the grainy scroll of shots below. In another image, a boy who appears to be eight or nine years old, and whose face is clearly visible, is sprawled on his stomach across a hallway floor. A triangular flop of hair spills across his forehead as he stares, with apparent amusement, at the object recording him from just below eye level. As Roomba’s current top model, its manufacturer’s suggested retail price is a cool $1,000, but if you’re looking for the best possible clean and an above-average user experience, the s9+ is worth the expense.

True to the brand’s claims, the s9+ outperformed the competition in these areas—it removed virtually all traces of the dirt and dust that we scattered along the edge of the testing area and in a tight corner. We thought the shape might hinder the vacuum’s ability to clean around obstacles, but it was able to efficiently navigate around and under the legs of a dining chair with no issues. The best robot vacuum we tested, hands down, was the iRobot Roomba s9+.

Robot vacuums do not offer as strong a performance as upright vacuum cleaners, particularly corded ones. It’s for this reason that we don’t recommend throwing away the best vacuum cleaner even if you decide to invest in one of these strong contenders. IRobot’s newest offering, the Roomba j7+ is one of the best Roombas because of its obstacle avoidance technology. With this, shark dustbuster it can essentially detect everyday objects, such as cables and socks and steer clear of them. The main benefit of this feature is the bot’s ability to avoid pet poop. In fact, iRobot is so confident in the Roomba j7+’s intelligence that it’s introduced the Pet Owner Official Promise (P.O.O.P), whereby iRobot will replace any j7+ that fails to avoid solid pet waste.
