2018 Genesis bikes go road plus, XC carbon, and more new bikes in stainless & titanium

It can be rated as one of the cheapest mountain bikes with good value for money. The Tour de Fer is a steel touring-specific bike with a longer, stable wheelbase, and comes complete with mudguards and racks. Moving into the racier end of the spectrum, the Zero and Zero Disc are genesis bicycles full-carbon road bikes with aggressive geometry. As the price increases, so does the level of tech, with Di2 included in the top-end model. Genesis produces bikes for all cycling disciplines, including road, mountain, cyclocross, gravel/adventure and commuting.

At a sniff the wrong side of two grand, it’s still great value and it’s a bike that brings massive potential for exploration and future fun-filled riding. The fork is made from chromoly steel and has a straight 1 1/8in steerer, and both the frame and fork have quick-release dropouts rather than thru-axles. If you’re a petite woman, the Liv Tempt 4 would be an affordable option. If you prefer a wider range of speed options the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike might be an entry-level bike worth trying.

Braking is done by using front disc brakes and rear rim brakes, that are both wire driven. Credited with creating the first-ever gravel bike, Genesis bicycles are designed to take you on adventure — off-road, on-road, or wherever your heart desires. We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information for mountain bikes on MTB Database.

Plus-sized ti hardtail is what Genesis calls a Tarntanium mountain bike. The long, low & slack 27.5+ Tarn has been a rider’s favorite, so Genesis decided to give it a bit of the premium titanium treatment. If you’re in the market for a bike, the lines of bikes Genesis carries offers something for everyone, no matter your level, size, or age. The sales crew is always there with a smile to fit each customer and offer test rides in the parking lot – with a helmet fitting too, of course. Genesis bikes are desirable because they feature high-quality frames with long warranties.

The Genesis bike’s aluminium frame is not only strong but also durable. Almost the antithesis of the Day One, the Flyer is sublime in its simplicity. It employs easily adjustable rim brakes, a single 42×17 gear, and it has mudguards to keep the spray off. Although the frame is steel, it’s relatively lightweight with a carbon fork and no excess components weighing it down.

The bikes are available either with rim brakes or hydraulic discs, but there is only one spec level with these bikes. Both come with 2×11 Shimano 105 drivetrains and carbon forks. The rim brake version can take tyres up to 28c, whereas the disc version can handle 30c. 3 gears at the pedals and 7 gears at the rear wheel make up a 21-speed drivetrain, a relatively rare multi-drive system in mountain bikes of the same price range. With its steel frame and carbon fork, asymmetrical chainstays and 650b wheels with gargantuan 50c tyres, it’s perfect if you want a bike that will take you anywhere, but don’t want a mountain bike.

20 years of bike enthusiasts,

using data and experience to teach you

how to choose the best bikes. In addition, the relatively narrow tires of the Huffy Marker Women’s Mountain Bike 26×2.13″ performed better on flat trails, but were more difficult to control on wet, muddy terrain. On the contrary, the larger 27.5″ tire diameter is not as nimble as the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike on tight trails. So for riders who like to ride on tight trails, the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike would be more suitable.

It is the combination of a vast array of mounts, a robust steel frame and wide tyre clearances that allow this bike to be such a jack of all trades. A rim brake version is available in addition to the disc option and both come with Shimano Ultegra 2×11 groupsets. The maximum tyre size on bike is 28c, typical for rim brake set ups but relatively narrow for a bike with discs.

Like their racier mountain bike sibling, Genesis has a bunch of new bikes to show for the upcoming season. Two completely new bikes – the steel road plus Fugio & carbon XC hardtail Mantle – are the biggest updates, expanding Genesis’ adventure and mountain bike ranges even more. But there are also other updates to existing bike platforms with new bikes & framesets for both road & trail riding.
